Members gathered in October to learn about pole lathe turning from Amy Leake. A professional demonstrator and instructor in the art, Amy began her green woodworking journey twelve years ago in her quest to learn more about native woods. She began with some basic carving which led on to turning bowls on the pole lathe. Finding inspiration from turners such as Robin Wood and Jon Warwicker and tuition from Sharif Adams, Amy now makes a living from green woodworking. She also makes her own tools and is developing those processes.
